What a great poem. It does seem like the earth awakes into spring, my favorite time of year and what a wonderful metaphor "Alarming spring comes" I wish my alarm would ring Spring all year long. Voting up as usual.

Great Haiku. Captures the cycle of winter/spring and the awakening earth theme well.

Can't wait for spring. It's so very cold here in Riga and the snow won't go away. Your haiku reminded me of that wonderful earthy smell as everything melts and the earth gets warmer.

Suffering with a cold that has me sapped and tired as mononucleosis would do. First one of the winter. Waiting for spring to ring the alarm.

Another day of weak and shakey, no pneumonia (probably thanks to a shot for that 6-7 years ago) but no energy and just set on surviving one day at a time, while hoping it is simply a rhino virus that will run its course in the usual 4-5 days. Time for fresh ginger and honey tea to shorten that process. Thanks for the good wishes.

Hope your feeling so much better. Crushed garlic in your drink is also good and if you have a bit of aloe juice and of course good ole' fresh lemon juice for that added shot of vitamin C.

Extra water, eating the one-sixth of a lemon (whole minus seeds) ginger tea with honey, and took two aloe capsules. If I develop some appetite there will be garlic included. You gals will get me well inspite of myself. Good wishes count as prayers, don't they? My wife was talking about everything having a practical use. The only practical use i can think of for a cold is that it sure does slow me down!
