A Haiku - Effort
Effortless Living? Forget that one!
A Haiku - Effort
A man once thought "Stop!"
"He who hesitates is lost."
Start and persist now.
Edison's light bulb
Was one of many efforts
Before it gave light.
The Wrights' first flight log
May well have cited failure.
Instant success? Posh!
Try, try again then.
Set your mind to it; focus.
To win you must try!
And when it's hardest?
The victory is sweetest.
Sweat equity, yes!
Born doomed to failure? Yet some live as to make it so.
Anything worth doing is worth doing. Much of life is like driving a car or flying a plane on automatic pilot. It's the rest of life which is the real report card.
So often we become our own uneducated psychologist, counseling ourselves unwisely, listening to our own fears drowning out our worthwhile intents, urging undue caution, accepting as normal for us that which is retarding our growth and potential for success.
I recall someone saying "What Man can imagine, Man can do." Some imagine failure and fail, while others imagine success and strive on to achieve it.
Is the lack of peace in our world because it is unachieveable, or is it because no one has inspired us to imagine it is really possible?
Can goodness triumph over evil, righteousness over sin, human goodness over inhumanity? The final answers have not been written, but anything and everything is still possible.
The phone rings at both ends of the line.
