Our Apple Tree
54Helping others avoid temptation....
Our Apple Tree
Glorious last spring, festooned with blossoms.
The sprayings and waterings,
The promised fruit near grown.
The neighbors saw them, too.
Red, ripe, delicious, God’s gift for the taking.
Forbidden fruit it’s true.
It’s mine. I could share with you.
It made me sad that you would lust and steal.
I should not tempt you so.
Spring came again, no blossoms there.
No gifts for the taking.
I saved you from the lust and theft.
The tree no longer stands.

This is a very interesting poem and I liked it a lot. It does make one think about what they should do or not do. Thanks for this hub.
Fascinatingly ambiguous. Love it. It's still summer here and for the first time my apple tree has two tiny apples. I'll watch them grow and hope nobody steals them.
We have four apple trees and when they burst forth in blossom we have apple wine.
Thought provoking indeed. I wonder where else you could go with this.

OOOOOO...Did you take away temptation, or just divert it? After all, he had already tasted of the forbidden fruit. Now..he's someone else's problem. Thought provoking! Thanks!
